Orientation

1. All cancellations of confirmed reservations must be made in writing. Mail to: Family Vacation Center, UCSB Alumni Association, Santa Barbara, CA 93106-1120; FAX to: (805) 893-2927; or, E-mail to: vacation@ia.ucsb.edu

2. Cancellations received before January 15, 2008 are charged a $200 cancellation fee per suite. For example, you made your initial deposit of $800 on December 15, 2007, but must cancel. You will be refunded $600.

3. Cancellations received between January 16, 2008 and 30 days before the start of your vacation are charged a $200 per person cancellation fee. For example, you paid in full (let's say your vacation costs $3000 for 4 people) on March 31, 2008 for your vacation beginning July 5th. On June 4th, you call the FVC to cancel. Since this falls between the dates listed above, you will be refunded $2200).

4. No refunds can be given for cancellations of confirmed reservations made less than 30 days before the start of your vacation.

5. Canceling one individual from your party will result in a full refund for that individual, up until 2 weeks from the start of your vacation, unless as a result you do not meet the minimum number for your suite, at which point the $450 surcharge will be assessed. If you cancel an individual less than two weeks before the start of your vacation, a 50% refund for that individual will be issued. All cancellations made after the start of your vacation are subject to no refund.

6. There will be no penalty for changing the week of your vacation. Changes, however, can only be made if the week you'd like still has availabilities.

Complete payment for your vacation must be received by January 15, 2008. Any vacations not paid in full by this day forfeit their reservation and all monies paid.

Wait List
If we are unable to book you initially, you will receive telephone or email notification that you have been placed on a waiting list. These lists are used extensively through the spring and summer. Our office will contact you by phone as soon as a space becomes available. You will not be charged if we cannot accommodate you. There is no charge for canceling from the wait list.
