Driving less is good for the planet.  Makes sense to most but what can each of us do to reach this goal?  FVC Director John Lofthus and FVC Assistant Director Adam Whiteley are answering this question head on by embarking on the “A Thousand Miles to Save a Thousand Pounds.” From January 1 to June 30, 2008, John and Adam will be walking, taking the bus, and pedaling their bikes, all to cut down on their total amount of driving.  The goal: 1,000 miles saved by June 30, 2008.  Why 1,000 miles?  1,000 miles less of driving will equal to just over 1,000 pounds of greenhouse gases saved.  Follow their progress here as they put their words into action!
