Job Description

REMEMBER: THE NEW STAFF APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 9, 2007
JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Brief descriptions of all FVC positions are noted below. In addition to fulfilling their specific job duties, all staff members are required to participate in shows, athletic events and general socializing with campers.
Infant Care and Small World: Care and supervision of children, aged 1 month to 2 years. Activities: Arts and crafts (painting, coloring and projects suitable for this age group), storytelling, music and supervision of play area. Changing diapers, snacks, walks and play appropriate for this age group.
Age Group Counselors: All age group counselors plan, organize and supervise age appropriate activities such as: arts & crafts, athletics, nature projects, campfires, hiking, dances and movies. Day and evening hours required.
Crafts: Provide instruction to campers of all ages in ceramics, lanyards, textile painting and tie-dye. Organize materials, maintain inventory and cleanliness of materials and facilities.
Athletics: Supervise and instruct tennis, softball, volleyball, basketball and other team sports. Organize and supervise tournaments for all ages. Officiate athletic events.
Aquatics: Operation and maintenance of the pool, pool area, equipment and furniture. Lifeguard and supervise recreational swimming. Must have current Senior Lifesaving credential. Also oversee surfing program.  All surf instructers must be lifeguard certified and have completed an open water rescue course.
Programs: Assist in musical and technical aspects of all camp shows and productions. Oversee and organize acts for camp talent show and staff acts, host shows, create/lead camper sing-a-longs. Work in other areas as directed.
Front Desk: Welcome and greet guests as they come in, give directions, check out games and equipment. Basically, you are the clerk at a hotel. Great for those who love people and have great customer service skills.
Office: For very organized and detail-oriented people. Learn what it takes to run a business, from handling phones and reservations, to logging invoices and coordinating transportation. Should be good with computers.
