1. We accept checks, Visa
or MasterCard credit cards. We cannot accept any other forms of payment.
2. In order to secure a reservation,
a $200 per person deposit must accompany a completed reservation
form. Checks are to be made out to UC Regents-Family Vacation
Center.
After January 15, 2008, full balance is due at the time of the reservation.
3. At least
one adult per suite must be a member of a University of
California Alumni Association in order to attend. Anyone can be a member
of the Association, you do not have to have graduated from UCSB. Membership with
the UCSB Alumni Association costs $50/year, or $400 for lifetime membership for
FVC attendees (a savings of $100). Checks, for membership ONLY, are to be made
out to UCSB
Alumni Association. This
should be done at time of reservation.
4. Reservations can be made
online, by FAX, by mail, or over the phone. To request a
pdf version of the form, email us at vacation@ia.ucsb.edu.
5. Complete payment of vacation
must be received by January 15, 2008 if initial reservation occurs between November
1, 2007 and January 15, 2008. Reservations made after February 15, 2008 will
require full payment at time of reservation.
6. All cancellations of confirmed
reservations must be made IN WRITING. Cancellation fee before January 15, 2008
is $200. The Cancellation fee between January 16, 2008 and 30 days before the
start of your vacation is $200 per person. Cancellations made less than 30 days
before the start of the vacation cannot be refunded; however, substitutions can
be made up to 10 days before the start of the vacation. For more details regarding

7. If we are unable to book
you initially, you will receive either telephone or email notification
that you have been placed on a waiting list. You will not be charged
any fees if you are placed on a waiting list. These lists are used
extensively through the spring and summer. Our office will contact
you by phone as soon as a space becomes available. There is no charge
for canceling from the wait list.
8. Canceling one individual from your
party will result in a full refund for that individual up until two weeks from
the start of your vacation, unless as a result you do not meet the minimum number
for your suite, at which point a $450 supplemental space fee will be assessed.
If you cancel an individual less than two weeks before the start of your vacation,
a 50% refund for that individual will be issued.
9. UCSB Alumni Discount: Valid for UCSB
graduate and his or her suite-mates only. Applies to Room and Board total. Limit
is one Alumni discount per suite.
10. "Refer a Friend" Discount:
This $50 discount for Room and Board is to reward loyal customers that refer
us to their friends. It is open for all 2008 enrolled families. The following
rules apply: (1) Referring family must be coming to the FVC in 2008. (2) Referred
family must be new to the FVC program and will need to put the referring family's
name on their reservation form at the time of reservation - sorry no exceptions.
(3) Valid through June 30, 2008.
11. Partial Stays: Do you
have a husband or daughter that isn't able to make it for the full week? One
option is to have them reserve as a "partial stay". Partial stays
are able to participate in all the regular FVC activities. The rates (per
night) are as follows (Note: maximum of 3 nights allowed).

12. Priority Registration: In an attempt
to reward our many loyal families, we provide priority registration until November
30, 2007. Priority Registration is broken up into two periods: November 1-14
(Priority #1) and November 15-30 (Priority #2). Priority Registration #1
allows families that vacationed with us in summer of 2007 priority placement
for both their week preference (if coming same week as 2007) and suite preference
(if same suite as 2007). Priority Registration #2 is open to all returning vacationers
regardless of which year they have vacationed with us and particular week they
are requesting. Every attempt will be made to satisfy room and week requests
after November 30, 2007, however priority placement ends effectively on November
30, 2007. Returning vacationers registering
after that date will have the same priority as new vacationers.
